Art in Alzheimer's

Alison's mother, Charla Boteler has an emerging art career at age 79. For over a decade, she has struggled with Alzheimer's disease. She lost her ability to paint but never the desire to express her creativity. From dawn to dusk, Charla makes still life arrangements of "stackings" containing found objects, flowers and what Charla calls: "stuff that fits with other stuff ".

Charla won Best in Show at the Housatonic Museum of Art "Flower RePower". She has also been on exhibit at Westport Art Center and City Lights and is currently the subject of a documentary on her art. You can follow her blog:
